I've had to exchange mine twice now, once do to restart problems, the second do to dust. Although I'd consider myself a bit on the OCD side, the fact that my coworker has a perfect 8700c while I keep seeing problems with mine leads me to believe that there does exists perfectly working ones with no dust, no screen discoloration, no scratches, and no hardware problems...anyways to get to my point,
When I did the second exchange, the CSR asked me if I wanted to charge it to my acccount. I said sure, just like I did before. She then clarified to me that since it would take anywhere from one to two billing cycles to credit me back the money once they receive the returned units, this meant that the bill would probably get charged to my credit card before it reversed on my account. So in effect should I do this, I would have a $600 credit on my account that would have been charged to my CC, and they will not mail out a check or anything to return the money and it will not reverse to the CC
Therefore, becareful and charge it to your CC instead of your account...otherwise you might end up prepaying for cell phone bill for the next 6 months.
