Default Newbie 8830 user , phone book question

I have an bb8830 world edition. I has an old Sanyo phone before this, non samrt fone ,but really reliable .hahahaha
I need to copy over all my contact phone numbers.
I have loaded the desck top ver.4.7 ,,,, . I was hopin of an easy way to copy over to pc file maybe asccii , the sync to the BB8830
Any help would be appreciated

Until someone else comes along with a better answer:

Have you tried using the switch device wizard in desktop manager? Don't know if it works with your model phone, but that's the first thing to try.

If you have Outlook and you can get the phone data into Outlook, you will then be able to sync the data with the blackberry using desktop manager. You can also sync with Yahoo, and several other options. Take a look.

Desktop manager also includes and ASCII importer/exporter. I've never used it; just know it's there.
