Per the subject line, I have a new BB7290 and am able to send e-mail from the device, but am not able to receive e-mail.

Any input/insight on what might be causing this? I would assume there is something in the configuration which might be causing this to happen.

I am a brand new BB user, thus have relatively weak troubleshooting skills at this point.

Are you using the BWC (Blackberry Web Client)? If so have you setup your account? This gives you a BB address eg. within the BWC you need to imput you PIN and IMEI to enable email being sent to your BB. If you have done the above you might need to have your service books sent to your device again.
