Default 8800 won't turn on

Last week, the screen on my 8800 started going crazy. The screen was all pixeley sometimes, but it still worked.

Since yesterday, it's just gone black. The light is red when it goes on and green when it's charging, but the screen is still black. The alarm is still going off at it's pre-set time, and it still vibrates when I receive a message.

I've tried taking the battery out and updating the software, but neither have helped.
Any solutions?

Wirelessly posted (8820)

See what others say, but I think it's time for a new blackberry.

A thought, if it is moisture, you could try removing the battery and drying it out; but if it is moisture and you left the battery in and continued using the blackberry, the damage is probably irreversible.

How are you sure it is definitely not water damage.

Even left on a bathroom counter during a hot steamy shower can cause some affects as you have described.

Nevertheless, it appears your screen is bad. You can replace that, not easily, but very possible, if you want.
