I take it you didn't get yours from the launch event?

Nope a buddy of mine bought if for me direct from cingular b2b had it drop shipped to my house. Remote unlocked via adam in 24 hours. The 8700c is a nice little unit, much better than the 7100t that it is replacing.

I don't think the 8700 series is intended to replace the 7100 series. The form factors are definitely different and there are clearly people who prefer SureType while others prefer QWERTY.

I was not clear, the 8700c it is replacing MY 7100t. I was using a 7100t right before I got the 8700c, so the 8700c is replacing MY 7100t.

I couldn't find any Blackberry-specific information on the site. What is the cost to unlock the BB?

So far, a great experience with Adam and his company. Purchased 8700 unlock service from eBay on Saturday and called him to confirm. He called me back within the hour. Pretty darn good for a Saturday! Very professional.

Still waiting on the unlock code, but I knew going in that he doesn't process anything on the weekends. I'll post back when I've unlocked and am on T-Mo!

It's too bad someone can't unlock the 8700r at a cheaper price than Kevin from Bongo Wirless once he is able to do it. Perhaps time will tell who knows.
