Can anyone help, please?

I use my Blackberry on the UK 'Pay as you Go' tarrif and would like to bolt on the O2 Internet/email package (a modest monthly rate for all online stuff, but just paying for calls and texts by top-up as and when).

O2 says that this 'bolt-on' is very easy to add to most phones but not quite so simple with a Blackberry. They say I need to get hold of the 8700's 'GPRS & MMS settings' for use on O2. Their initial suggestion was that I should have a root around the Blackberry web site, but as this forum has been so helpful in the past and as I really don't know what I'm looking for, I thought it would be wise to ask you first!

Also, once I've got these settings, what do I have to do to add them to the phone? I understand that once that's done, O2 just sends me a SIMM card and off we go.

Nope.
For blackberries you need the Blackberry Unlimited Bolt-on, which is NOT available on PAYG sims. (Only SIM Only Contracts and standard contract plans).

Whoever told you that, was wrong.
