So I've had my 8700c for roughly 4 years now. I'm only on my second device.
Here's what I've found to make your 8700 device work smoother.
I'm an autodidact which means I'm pretty much constantly reading. I had over 500 bookmarks at one point of random facts, ebooks, etc.
This is a list of ways to optimize your Blackberry:
-Delete your bookmarks that you never use. If you don't want to delete the bookmarks, deselect the 'Available Offline' option.
-Delete all your unused apps.
-Delete any pictures or ringtones you never use or need.
-Go to your browser Options, Cache Operations, and clear your history, content, pushed, and cookie cache.
-Here's the clincher, keep your memory usage at above 12000000 Bytes. Below that your device becomes a bit slow and lags.
I hope this simple guide helps you. Whenever my phone lags I do that and then for good measure do a reset by clicking ALT, right Shift, and DEL.
