Hi, I recently purchased an unlocked vodafone blackberry 8820 from a local seller. I have subscribed to BIS and have tested it out with a blackberry bold 9000.

Everything is working fine on the 8820 except, my BIS cannot seem to work. It shows not connected under service status. However, on the bold, it is working fine.

I am using a 3G sim card and I'm from Singapore. Could it be that 1) my device is faulty? 2) I will need a 2G sim card. 3) Any pre-determined settings during unlocking that i may need to manually change?


I would kindly appreciate any form of assistance.

You need to login to your BIS account and register your 8820 as the device of choice. You will need to enter the PIN and IMEI to register 8820 to your account. Thereafter, send the Service Book to your device.

I have done so, even tried Host Routing Table -> register now but to no avail.
service books are not pushed to my device.

Better go and give your mobile into the shop to get the code....

I wonder if the IMEI and PIN are registered elsewhere or they have been blacklisted?

Smart move would be to return the 8820 and get your money and then invest that in a new device from your carrier or reputable dealer.
