Did a search on this first, but apparently no one else is having this problem:

I don't really take/make that many calls, and when I do, I do it in the car with my HFK.

Today I was taking a call from a co-worker directly on the hand held and they were soooooo loud that i attempted to turn the ear piece volume down and could not.

Yup, I used the scrool wheel. It was set right in the middle and I found that i could not turn the volume up OR down.

I reconfirmed this by calling myself from my office and could not adjust the volume.

Am I doing something wrong? I can't be that dumb, this is my 3rd BB.

Scroll wheel should do it. On my 8700, I found the volume not as loud as my past Blackberrys and had to max it out all the time.

Thankfully, the 8700 ear piece volume is much louder than my 7290. The 7290 was useless on Manhattan streets.

No problem going up or down on a call using the scroll wheel for me. One thing you might want to try, go to Phone, Options, Default Call Volume. I have mine set for Previous.

Good Lord, i can only pray for a similar "defect" when i get my 8700. apparently, i'm partially deaf because i can't hear anything on my 7100 with the slightest bit of ambient noise

Well I did a hard reset and all was good with that issue.

I have a similar issue with a 7100i.

I can adjust the volume fine, even on a speaker phone call.

But sometimes, the phone app displays an all white horizontal line across the screen, this is when the volume will not adjust.

It's not that it's slow, or delayed, it will not work. Until I hit the END button 2 times. (once to end call, then once to close phone app.)

This only happens in Handset Mode, not speaker phone. Even if it is bugging out I CAN adjust the volume in speaker phone mode.

So it's not the scroll wheel itself.

Is this a phone app. bug? It will go away if I close the phone app. I can make a few calls then it will show up again.

I know that this is not the end of the world, and is workable, but it's just a PITA.
