Have a 7230 which is a wonderful PDA and phone.
Trying to use a data plan with Fido without using the Blackberry services which are quite expensive.
Have gotten to the point of loading Opera Mini onto the phone, with its icon visible, but each time I try to open it , it goes through an install cycle (prompts for permission for sockets) and gets stuck right at the end with error: "Failed to connect to the internet".
On the home screen, at the top below the time it says "Data connection refused".
If I go into Options and then Network it can find Fido, and then puts "Fido" on the home screen instead of "Data connection refused". But seems to forget that I have Fido when I go to open Opera.
Suggestions?

In opera, go the the settings, and see what you are using to connect. Post the results here.


Also, options>advanced>tcp.

Post what you see.

Opera runs thru the carriers apn/tcp, not the BIS, so u need to have your TCP/apn set properly for it to work
