Default Plantronics Discovery 640... USB Plug?

Please Login to Remove!

The manual for this device shows that a USB Mini plug adapter is available... however the Plantronics website doesn't show it.

Anyone know where to get this so I can share the same plugs / cigarette lighter?

I have this great headset too and can't find it either. I went to the plantronics page and searched accessories but couldn't find it.

Sammy, it's really not a USB mini. It's the regular USB plug on one end and it terminates into that little round plug that connects to the charger.

Oops, you're right.. I was looking at the cable.

If you call plantronics 800 number, you can order it from them.

They are releasing a car charger, and another of the short adapters, this one to work with the mini-usb. You still will have to use the sleeve that comes with it to charge it. I have one on backorder at blueheadsets.com.

I have seen it advertised with the accessory kit that includes the charging adapters. Did you not get that.

Also has anyone tried a rechargeable battery in the battery adpater?

Lightbulb I'm ordering...

I'm going to try to order for S&J...

Plantronics 70393-01 Mini USB Charging Adapter 8.38
Subtotal: 8.38
Shipping: 8.95
Tax: 0.00
Total: 17.33

Unfortunately shipping was more than the part... but I figure if I order from Plantronics that it would be much more than $8.38 anyway.

I'll let you know if this works.

The unit I purchased came with a Nokia,Motorola, and Sony ericson charge adapters.
It also came with the battery chager adapterr and a nice hard shell travel case.
For some reason the motorola adapter works best for me, I had problmes with the Nokia adapter timing out. I have an iGo charger and use the motorola for the car charger and the mini usb for the BB. My wife has a motorola phone, she uses it in the car. I ordered a replacement charger for the house.

640 works great, good volume, rarely get the volume on 8700 above 50%. Light weight, I often forget I have it on. The plantronics web site has a complete parts list for the 640, you can order any item seperately.
