Default Case for the 7290

New to BB (coming from Treo and Ipaq). Any good case recommendations? Over the weekend the unit slipped out of the plastic holster and went bouncing around the garage floor (boy this thing is built like a tank), so I've decided to look for something more secure

I did a forum search, but cases don't seem to be as hot a topic as they are in the Ipaq/Treo world.

Thx

Ouch. I just bought a leather case (no belt clip) and a leather holster for the 7290. Got them on http://www.eaccess-estore.com

Finch -- did the case for the Mrs. work for the 7290? I, too, am getting one for the wife. Emailed piel, and they were not sure if their 72xx series case would work for the 7290. Your, or your Mrs', thoughts?

Thanks

This is what I got, and I am loving it. Its simple, looks nice, and it keeps my BB 7290 secure and snug.

Hope that helps.

Though, now that I see the one finch purchased, I think I might order myself one of those. Those look pretty cool.

I am; I bought a 7290 for our CIO. And the holster, too.

I bought a shiny metal case with a flip lid which I love. It does a great job of protecting my BB from drops, and provides a snug fit for the device. It allows the BB to be used while in the case, but also allows for the device to be easily and safely removed for extended use. I found that removing the device from a leather case was clumsy, especially when doing so in a hurry to answer a call, and often resulted in drops. This is never a problem with the metal case. I don't like belt-clips because they invariably slip out of my belt when exiting a tight car seat. The metal case has a removable clip feature which is handy for me because it then fits easily in my shirt or suit pocket. I can safely wear it in the back pocket of my pants in a fix, like a wallet, and even sit on it, because it is so well protected by the metal case.

I'm sorry, but I forgot where I bought it, although I found out about it on this site.

I just received my case for my 7290 from PielFrama. All I can saw is WOW. A bit expensive at 60 Euros, but that price includes 2nd day UPS from Spain.

Don't mean to dreg this thread up out of the past, but I'm reading the concerns about the plastic holster and wondering if I shouldn't get something else. My only concern with this one, for example, is A) does it have the magnet in it, and B) will it really hold my BB tight enough? I have two friends with 7290s, and they both use the plastic holster. Although I don't have any experience carrying one around, I guess I'd be concerned that without a latching system like the holster has, the BB would be more prone to falling out of one of those neoprene/leather holsters.

If some of you could post some more on your experiences with your holsters for the 7290, specifically about how securely they hold it, I'd really appreciate it.

Edit: Also, shouldn't this be in Hardware & Accessories?

YMMV on the plastic holster. I've never had a problem with it and I've always used the plastic holster with my 6230, 7230, and 7290. I'm not saying that the thing is infallible as there is definitely at least one person in my department whose Blackberry keeps falling out of the holster.

Thanks...does anyone have that leather holster I linked to? Can anyone tell me what they think of how securely it holds your BB?
