Default I want to love my 7105t, but (not user error)

Well, this is my first post here.
I got my 7105t I have been with T-mob/Voicestream for a long, long time. I though about the 7100 when if first came out, but I passed one it and now I've decided to go with the 7105 after reading all kinds of reviews. I'd like to think that I'm the perfect user for the 7105t as I have my own business, and I'm often not near a computer/internet, and I travel a lot between Boston and NYC.

In any case, I got my 7105t... charged it up and started playing around. I love the menus, functions, connections, options etc, but few things are bad, that might be limited to my unit:

- Battery:
I have charged for 4 hours when I first got it, left it unplugged over night and I've spend some time playing around with it, so I was not surprised that the batter started dying the next evening, especially when in the car as it was quite cold out.
Got home, plugged it in, left it charging over night (at first the charge indication wasn't there, but I played around and got it).
This morning, fully charged at home, I pack up, leave, get into my car, and I notice “Batter drained, handheld shutting down”. I tried to turn it on-and-off a few times and I got the same thing. Finally, I removed and reinstalled the battery and it showed full charge. WEIRD!! For the record, it was about 38 deg outside according to my rather accurate car thermometer. I’m not removing and reinstalling the battery everyday, I shouldn’t have to.

- Coverage:
No (none, nada, zip, zilch, zero) coverage between Framingham MA, and Boston MA. I’ve used a lot of different phones on the same route and I know of one dead spot, and I know there is no coverage in the tunnels (obviously), but I had NO SERVICE AT ALL along the 20-mile stretch of Mass-Pike, including in Boston, where coverage is usually great. Wow. Based on reviews, I was expecting weaker signal reception, but this is unacceptable.

Can anyone advise on my issues?

i was in framingham last night and drove back to boston down route 9 with my 7105t and didn't notice any serious coverage issues...

and as for the battery, mine has been much better than i expected. I hammer on my phone's internet, email and instant messaging all day long. Plus i opened up my TCP for consistent internet which drains the battery too. Although i charge it every night, i was actually able to get away without charging it for 2 nights in a row. did you give your battery a full overnight charge after you bought it before you started playing with it? you can hurt your battery if you don't...

try getting a new battery and fully charge it overnight before you start using it. as for the coverage issues, well... like every tmobile phone i've ever had, the coverage sucks. and i learn to deal with it. the coverage in Randolph where i live is actually not bad, but i live in this one little corner where there is absolutely zero reception, even with other carriers. My 7105 always has at least one bar, usually two, and it's always scanning and sometimes it'll have 3 or 4, but not for very long...

Spend the extra $50.00 and buy the long life battery. I got tired of charging mine every night and picked one up a few months ago. I now get a good 4-5 days use between charges. And that, with 75-100 emails and 5-7 phone calls per day. You can find it at www.tessco.com.

I have the extended life battery. I have had this same charging issue for the last 4 nights. I plug it in, get the battery charge symbol and leave it all night. In the morning I look at it, it's still charging and it still says the same battery level as the night before. I then remove the battery and reboot and it says 100%. Mine just started doing this and haven't added any software for several months. Anyone have any ideas?

It's been working great since that time... battery lasts 3-4 days, coverage all over, signal not as strong as my old cell phones, but good enough to talk.

Thanks.
