Angry "Mute" button

Please Login to Remove!

I'm new to Blackberry. Very cool XMas gift! Is there a way to disble the Mute button on the top of the device? or is there an indicator to show when it is on? It keeps getting pressed by accident and my phone doesn't ring. I don't know when it is on, so i can't "unpress" it. It is becoming a pain. Any suggestions? Thanks very much

The mute button only functions while a call is in progress. Check you profiles to ensure your ringer is set at a reasonable volume.

which BB did you get?? I have the 8700c and the mute button will only stop the ringing once it starts or mute the actual call, yours is putting your phone into silent??

On my new ver 4.1, pressing the Esc while Holstered sends the call to voicemail or informs callers that I am not avail.
