figured I'd ask here before I call Nextel...I've been with Nextel for 4+ months(I850 w/ voice plan only) now and with business expanding I felt it necessary to step up to a better phone with better wireless options for email and internet capabilities. I just got my 7100i(its a great phone so far) yeasterday and it has no data plan, but they did switch over my vocie plan.
now before I call to setup the data/email plan later today, I was just wondering if all it have to do is add one of the $10, $15 or $20 add-on "data plans" to my current account or will Nextel make me apply for a NEW data account with one of their $39 or $49 Blackberry specific "unlimited data plans" on top of my current voice plan rate??

To get data/email on the blackberry, you must have a "blackberry specific" rate plan that is either $35 (5MB) or $45 (unlimited) per month, on top of your voice plan. The other Nextel data plans will not work with a blackberry.

No problem. At first it sounds a little steep, but once you use it for a bit most people don't look at it that way anymore. I know I don't....
