I've read through most of this forum, but can't seem find a thread that sounds similar to the problem that I'm having.

I have a 7100t, unlocked and being used on Cingular. Bought it off of Ebay back in October, so no warranty. Like averyone with a new toy, I tried to do everything that I could with it. The first thing that I did was go to RIM's website and download all of the latest software and firmware and installed it. Then i looked into some third party software. installed some trials. and let it go. about a month later I had a problem. I was out at dinner and i hit a key on the phone to wake it up and the screen was white. no matter what button i hit, the screen wouldn't change. I eventually reflashed the firmware and reinstalled my desktop and device managers. this seemed to fix the problem.

Since then I haven't made any changes, except one. About ten days ago, I installed a few of Magmic's free game trials. Some of the trials ran out, but i didn't uninstall them immediately. And then my phone started acting up again.

Let me see if i can explain exactly what is happening:

When I hit a button, the LCD screen will wake up and show me the home page. now let's say that i try to scroll up or down, with every click of the wheel, the screen might begin to glitch. It doesn't go black, it will flash white, like those cheesy 'flashlight' programs they have for PDAs. then the screen begins to fade to white. I'll hit the power button to turn off the screen and turn it back on, and sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't.
I've taken the battery out, let the phone sit for a while, and then put the battery back in. Same results as hitting the power button: sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I know it has something to do with the LCD. I can still answer calls, place calls, and even scroll through my call log (from memory of course, I can't see anything) All of the 'functions' seem to be in tact, I just can't see. If i leave the phone alone for a few minutes, it seems to fix itself.

I'm not blaming Magmic, but it seems like every time i install third party software, this issue pops up. I'm not on a BES and i don't have a data plan. Everything that I have done with my 7100 or to it has happened through the data cable to my computer.

The first time this happened, It only seemed to last a day or two. Now it's been going on for longer and it's making me nervous. I've never had the phone near water, so i know it's not damaged that way. I haven't reflashed my firmware yet. I guess i should to try and rule out a software issue.

If anyone else has had this issue, or knows what i can do to fix it, please let me know.

Loose connection in the phone. You can peel the sticky thing off the top back part of the phone, remove the screws and check the LCD cable.

I believe that the sticky thing that you are referring to is the white sticker inside the battery compartment. Am I right?
The reason that I ask is because i just peeled that sticker out of there only to find another sticker underneath it. The IMEI# and the PIN are the same, along with all of the other information (I.C. #, F.C.C. #, etc.) the only thing that is different is this line:

TOP STICKER
Patents: www.rim.net/patents KB4

BOTTOM STICKER
Patents: www.rim.net/patents GB4

The G has been swapped out for a K on the newer sticker.
Maybe this doesn't mean anything. I don't know. No where on there, though does it say anything about the phone being refurbished, which I've seen on other stickers.

Well on the 7100g ( the only 7100 phone I've been in contact with ) There is a metal sticker behind the speaker area that has to be removed and there are screws underneath. Then you can take out the rest of the screws as well.

I have this exact same problem. I also have the Magmic software but really I do not think this is a software/OS issue. I believe it is a loose connection somewhere.

Reasons I think this:
1. It only happens to me when I hit any keys in the top row of the keyboard

2. If I hit the power button repeatidly it fixes itself.

3. It also drops calls when it goes gray.

I hate when this happens --- HOW DO WE FIX THIS ISSUE!!!!
