Default Transferring data from Treo to 7250

Please Login to Remove!

I have been a Treo user until recently when I got a blackberry 7250 from my new employer. So I assume it is a BES. I am still finding my way around using Blackberry and this forum has been quite helpful. However, still there are several things that I have not been able to figure it out and I am hoping that someone else on forum will be able to help.

a) I would like to transfer my personal address book from Treo to Blackberry and be able to do so from time to time as I will still be using my Treo as my personal phone.

b) I don't want to have my personal contacts get transferred to corporate exchange server. Is there any way to prevent it so I can still keep my personal contacts on Blackberry (and keep them in sync with Treo) ?

Welcome to the forums!

As always, I suggest reading the FAQ at the top, or using the search function. Your questions and more have been answered in previous threads.

In short, however, I would suggest importing your Treo contacts into Outlook, then exporting your contacts via the Desktop Manager software to your Blackberry. A search will yield step-by-step instructions for this operation.

Outlook will be the best middle man to get it done, if I recall there's an app that ships with Palm devices called Pocket Mirror. With that in hand you can import all your contacts, notes, tasks into Outlook then simply sync you BB with Outlook after and your good to go.

Most carriers don't yet ship this, but the Blackberry Desktop Manager, version 4.1 includes an Import wizard in the Intellisync tool. I deal with US Cellular's 7250, and it's worked from a Palm M515 that I happened to have lying around. USCC doesn't officially support 4.1, but RIM has it for download in their SUPPORT/DOWNLOADS area.

If you're trying to avoid saving to your Outlook, this might work.

RIM says it supports both Palm and Windows Mobile devices.
