I have a 6280 orginally with AT&T, but since Cingular has taken over AT&T they refuse to provide me with any assistance from what they call the "blue side" to unlock it. Cingular reps go even further and tell you that at some point I am going to have to upgrade my Blackberry to one of theirs for it to work on their network. Initially I politely asked them to provide me the unlock code for my 6280 and I'd be more than happy to remain a customer as long as I could continue to use my Blackbery, but no help from anyone. So if anyone could help me with the unlock code for my AT&T Blackberry 6280, I'd be forever in your debt. Thanks for any help at all.

Ditto, It has my ID# at the top and personalization underneath that with

all the categories disabled (sim, network, network subset, service provider, corporate)

does this mean it is unlocked?? Its from Cingular

5 minutes ago i got an e-mail from t-mo with my unlock code.

I put it in, and now its unlocked!

I know their data service still has problems, but as far as this scenario, i'm happy with t-mo.

While trying to unlock my 7230 (with the ALT MEPE-option), after being advised by t-mobile to enter the wrong code ten times and then enter ' blackberry', the network was blocked. Does anyone have any idea what I should do now and what the consequences may be? The blackberry is an old one from our office, which have been replaced by the 7290. In order to use my private simcard the phone needs to be unlocked. Thanks

Did you enter the wrong code ten times with the login screen or the SIM unlock (MEPD) screen? If it's the SIM unlock screen then you have either got the wrong advise or the wrong meaning of the advise.. (and you are out-of-luck I am afraid if you used up all the chances..)

If it's the login screen then you just need to get into the Options->SimCard->MEPD screen and MEP2 and enter the unlock code given to you..

I unlocked my cingular bb 7290 recently. I wanted to verify if it is unlocked correctly. Everything (Sim, network subset, service provider, and corporate) is disabled. EXCEPT "Network" which says Inactive..what should I do.

I tried putting in a tmobile prepaid sim card, and it says insert sim card. I suspect that the sim card may not be activated. bought the ebay auction that specified it was activated, and once I received the tmo sim card, they sent a number with it too. so it is assumed that it is unlocked.
