Default Network selection behavior when using 7100v software on Cingular

Please Login to Remove!

I recently installed the 7100v software (for Vodafone) onto my 7100g (Cingular). I did this in order to get Spanish language SureType, as described here in this thread: SureType Additional Languages

As I mentioned in that thread, this resulted in a software downgrade, since the BlackBerry software for Vodafone seems to be slightly less up to date than that of Cingular. Everything still works fine, but I have noticed that when I go to Settings->Options->Network, I no longer have the option to select manual or automatic network searching ... it always appears to do an automatic search, and it finds Cingular's network.

There's nothing wrong with this behavior, but I'm wondering if there is some way within the Vodafone software to enable the choice of Manual or Automatic network detection. This capability exists within the Cingular software, as well as within T-Mobile's version (7100t).

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

I can't do network selection on my 7100g on the Cingular network. Can anyone else? How?
