Default BlackBerry Friendly IMAP Hosting

I understand that not all IMAP servers are created equal when it comes to pushing Sent Messages from the BlackBerry. I discovered this because my Apple .Mac IMAP account works great while my Aplus.net hosted IMAP account does not.

The T-Mo BlackBerry rep explained to me that some IMAP providers (like AOL and .Mac) have "arrangements" with RIM to make their servers more compatible while others do not. As weird as that sounds, I have to believe him.

I want to know if anyone can recommend a web hosting company with IMAP email that works with the BlackBerry? I know there must be others out there besides AOL and .Mac.

Sorry, gotta bump this because I don't think I'm the only one.

To be clear, I'm no looking for full IMAP functionality. I know that's a tricky thing to achieve. All I want is for my Sent messages to appear on my IMAP server. I know it's possible with .Mac, because anything I send from my BlackBerry using my "@mac.com" addy appears on my IMAP server.

From what I understand, this feature is on a provider-by-provider basis. Is anyone using a web hosting IMAP email (Network Solutions, GoDaddy, etc.) that give them this functionality?

I use to use a Fastmail IMAP account, www.fastmail.fm , with my Treo 650 and Chatter. And anything I sent from the Treo would show up in the SENT folder in my Fastmail account.

Thanks lgreenberg. From what I understand, the Treo handles IMAP a little differently than BlackBerry. Really, any IMAP account should work with the Treo. For instance, you actually enter in all the IMAP info into the Treo whereas with the BlackBerry, you rely more on RIM to follow through with the push/pull.

Again, from a discussion I had with the T-Mo BB rep, I now understand that only certain providers have "arrangements" with RIM to provide some or all IMAP functionality. AOL and .Mac being two of them.

Do you know if Fastmail works this way with your BlackBerry?

I honestly never tried it with my BB.

I'm just forwarding everything to my BB e-mail address.
