blackberry 8800 problem
 

hi.. i recently purchased a blackberry 8800 unlocked version from ebay.

i am using reliance smart connection on it.. the problem is that i cant send sms. when i try to send an sms i get an error: protocol stack error..

but when i inserted a vodafone sim card it worked fine... when i inserted back the reliance sim.. after few sec it showed an error.. : system failure.

plz help.

Does Reliance support SMS? If so, is it properly activated on your account? Seems to me that you need to call your carrier. SMS is a carrier issue, not a BB one.

i used this sim card on nokia phones before... i have sent a lots of sms using this sim..

You may have an old IT Policy from the previous user. 8800s were very popular corporate models partially because of the lack of a camera. Perhaps this IT Policy is blocking text messaging.

how do i fix the problem?

Check the FAQ or search on "remove IT Policy".
