Default 7130e versus 7250

Please Login to Remove!

I have an option to receive either the 7130e or the 7250 and I am wondering the pros/cons of each. It looks as if the screen size on the 7250 is much larger?

It will be through Verizonwireless.com. My company is migrating to a BES setup.

I currently use a 7100t for personal use and noticed that the width of the 7130e is actually smaller than the 7100t. I will primarily be using the device for the phone (my assumption is that the 7130e has a better phone), but will also be reading email and probably viewing word/excel docs.

I am leaning toward the 7130t as it is a new model...

Any thoughts would be helpful...

Thanks,

Brett

The 7130 has a better screen at 240x260 where the 7250 is 240x160. The only real advantage of the 7250 is its full QWERTY keyboard.

Just my opinion.

Is that the screen resolution or the size? I was not sure?

That's the resolution. The screen size is more narrow than the 7250.

The 7130e is more phone shaped (but still wider than most phones) and supports EVDO.

I don't think the 7250 does EVDO, but the full keyboard (as whsbuss said) is the main difference, otherwise.

The 7250 does support EVDO but you have to update the OS. Check this thread

That is very cool. I'll tell my coworkers with 7250s right now. Thanks!

I switched from a Verizon 7250 to a Verizon 7130e about a month ago. I could not be happier (well if the 7130e had voice dial I might be happier). My usage pattern was almost exactly as you described. I do a lot of reading emails and talking in the phone. 7130e fits the bill for me. EVDO is fast.

Good call, I've had both. Most who have used both wouldn't disagree that the 7250 is good but the 7130e is better in every way when it comes to voice calling functionality, which you say is important to you. Better dialing keypad, speakerphone, easier to read screen, louder and better ring tones.

I think it's a better email device too but that's more of a matter of opinion mainly due to the easier one handed typing which I do all the time. One handed on the full qwerty I found much harder.

Question Voice Dialling

Jeff, Based on your last response, you indicate that the 7250 is capable of voice dialling?

I have not been able to find that feature? Can you provide more info on voice dialling for the 7250.

7130e by a wide margin--I have had both and it is not even close...
