Greetings! Coupla time issues going on that I can't seem to figure out: first, when I click on the "wrench" for Options, then click on Date/Time, it shows my correct date and time info, no problem; however, below a line showing my date/time is Network Time and Network Date and these are exactly 24 hr AHEAD of the correct time! Like right now, the Network date/time shows: Mon, Jan 23, 2006 5:41pm. It's Sunday, Jan 22 at 4:41pm. Any clue what's up with this?? I can find a way to change it or even access it! The second time issue might be related and/or affected by this Network time/date issue: when a Calendar Reminder comes up, like reminding me that I need to bath my dog at 6pm today. I had the reminder set to remind me 30 mins prior to the event. Well, when I attempt to adjust the reminder to remind me say, an hour later, a message comes up saying the reminder can not be changed because it is past due!!! NOT! The event is not even due to happen for another 30 mins and this thing is saying it's already past! Could this be because of the network time being wrong?? This is a real aggravation and I would appreciate any ideas, suggestions, help!!!

Change the option of network time to blackberry time and see if that helps.

I do have it set for "BlackBerry" time. If I change that option to "network" then the BlackBerry itself shows the wrong time (that is, shows the date as Mon, Jan 23rd, 5:54pm). Thanks for the suggestion. I have also tried using the "Update Time" function to attempt to update the Network date and time, no success. Ugh.

Apparently this is a Nextel issue, across their network due to some equipment and tower changes etc. There were some other posts about this same issue which indicated Nextel is aware and working to correct the Network Time/Date problem. I plan on calling Nextel Tech Support tomorrow and check it out and at least log another problem ticket!

Same issue here with my Nextel 7100i. I was hoping the phone could always display the network time. I am between timezones all the time and this drives me crazy!

Greetings! I spoke with a tech at Nextel, Level 2 BlackBerry support, and she told me they were working on the issue, though there was a degree of denial in her response! She was of the opinion that a Hard Reset (removing the battery completely for 30 seconds) would solve the time issue. I would encourage any and all who have this issue (and those that haven't checked their Network Time/Date should do so) call Nextel or your service provider to log this issue.

Interestingly enough, when I was messing with these settings and selected "update time" from the menu option, it set the date to 24 hrs ahead. Even changing it to Blackberry at first seemed work, but in powering it off and back on again, and updating the time, it revert back (forward really to being a day ahead.

Also when sending messages via the Blackberry the header of the email still shows the GMT time as the creation date of the message and not the offset time, which is set correctly on the handheld. I have to believe the default time (and offset) is still being retrieved from the "network" and not the device itself, the date appears correctly. But it makes it tough to troubleshoot problems with timestamps and offsets incorrect.

Wonder if it's an OS issue as well, I know of several systems going to a new international date time format (IBM has with some of their software) but some the client software didn't know how to handle it, and it also messed up date and time stamps on mail clients.

Hope this gets fixes soon.

I'm using the 7100t (OS 4.0.2.49) and have problems with the time, especially when I'm traveling out of the country (which as you can imagine just sux eggs).

I will say this much, between the messed up time and the constant 'searching for network' signal that I get, I must say that these 7100's seem more like betas than anything else.

Not sure if either the 'network' thing is hardware, but the simple keeping time is so rudimentary. BTW, I do have it as Blackberry for the source time.

Same problem here on a 7100T w/ T-Mobile. I haven't moved from my time zone BTW.

I *thought* I remember calling RIM about this (or perhaps it was in another thread out here) that this is an OS issue, not a device issue. I could be wrong, though, the coffee hasn't completely saturated my brain yet this morning.

I have this same problem, any updates?
