Unhappy Nextel 7100i not as rugged as 7520

Please Login to Remove!

Ive had my 7100i for two months now and I had to take it in for repair/replace already once due to software error (Code 395). which by the way....Nextel had no idea what that code meant. Am I just being paranoid or this thing does not seem as rugged as the 7520???? If it wasnt for the integrated browser and multimedia messaging capability I would go back to the 7520. I had a 7520 for a year and I put that thing thru some rough stuff and never had a problem.

Anybody else with similar experiences?????

I've dropped my 7100i several times and not had a problem with it - although it's been on carpeting most times, or not very far of a drop.

My boss just bought a leather swivel holster from Bellagio Designs that does a very good job of protecting it. Might want to look into that, perhaps? The case he bought is actually listed on the website for the 7100r/7100t, but it fits his 7100i just fine.

I dropped mine today in the rest room at work. hard ceramic floors. It bounced real well too. No damage at all. fell about 3 feet.

Yes. I'm on my third 7100i and have continue to experience problems. The first 2 crashed and showed error messages which Nextel could not explain. The current one is on it's way. I can not get the earpiece to work. Any ideas?

do you also have a problem with service cutting in and out out of the blue ?

like 1 second great service , the next you have nothing.

I've dropped mine probably 5 or 6 times by now. It's scratched all over but works like nothing happened.
