Default Back-up on a 8700C

Please Login to Remove!
I have a question...If I get a new unit what do I have to do to put everything back on the new one? Just use the desktop manager and hook it up?

If you're not a BES (OS 4.x) or are, but not wirelessly synched, do a full system backup on the existing device. You can do a selective or full restore to the new device.

Connect old BB to computer and Back-up all items you want moved to the new BB. . . . save the back-up to a (default by date) file . . . connect new BB to computer . . . restore data . . .

When I back them up it has a file buy it says windows doesn't recognize what program should open it, does that matter or will blackberry recogize it if I get the new one and try to restore it?

You may only restore from within the BBDM...not outside of that.
