After doing the upgrade to 4.10 (worthwile I might add!) there is no phone number stored in speed dial #1 anymore on my 7100g. Tech support at Cingular gave me the access number. That gets the VM system to answer but then prompts to manually enter my phone number and pw. It used to recognize my phone and only ask for the pw.

It's no big deal to create a pause/string with the numbers but it's anoying to have to wait for the 10 digit number each time I log in.

Has anyone else experienced this and how did you deal with it?

I had the same problem. I went into the phone app, clicked the wheel and opened options. There, under voice mail, is the number that I use to dial in. The only way I found to make the "1" key work again was to add that number to an address book entry and set it up to speed dial on the "w" key (same physical button as "1").

Go to Phone > Options > General Options > Restrict My Identity > verify it is set to NO. If it is set to yes, it hides your phone number from caller ID and your voice mail as well. At least it does on my T-Mobile BB.

At least with my Verizon 7130e, the number to call from my Blackberry to pickup voicemail is the cell phone number of my Blackberry itself. It recognizes that I'm calling my Blackberry from my Blackberry and simply prompts for my password. Perhaps Cingular and T-Mobile address voicemail differently.

Incidentally, to pick up my Blackberry voicemail from a different phone, I dial my number and when voicemail picks up, I enter *password#.
