Default two questions

Please Login to Remove!

1) what's the latest info on why the 7100g (or any other BB device for that matter?) won't auto update to local time when changing time zones?

2) why does the 'calendar' mode of the 7100g delete appointments after the time of the appointment passes? how can I change this, if possible?

thanks in advance for any help. i've tried to get answers on these two questions from Cingular on their toll free line, the Cingular store, the Cingular BB forum, etc. and no one seems to know or be able to help....

1) A lousy answer but.. It's always been that way. Some people don't want it to change. Some do. I deal with it by changing the time zone myself. Keeps my meetings in order.

2) Are you using Intellisync to sync or wireless sync of the calendar?

Thanks for the quick reply.
Likewise on 1), I've just been changing the time zone manually too.

2) I update with Intellisynch via USB cable, using MS Outlook.

I found that going through all the trouble to update to OS 4.1, you have the option to switch the date and time from "Blackberry" which is the manual thing, and "Network." I have not gone anywhere to switch time zones so I am not sure if having the date and time set to "Network" will auto switch the time zones.

Unfortunately this does not enable auto update of time. I have my time zone set to Network and had to change the zone myself :(

I have never had this issue because Daylight Savings Time which automatically adjusts itself on my BB. However, I have not been outside the US Central Time Zone with my BB yet.

The BB will not auto update time on change of timezones - we recommend travellers change the time zone before they turn their wireless back on when getting off the plane - that way their pending messages come in correctly. It's a pain, especially as most cell phones update themselves automatically.
