Default 8700 Cingular--Blackberry Browser?

Please Login to Remove!

Guys my new 8700 only has the cingular browser...how do I install the BB Browser? For some strange reason I got it on my 7290 the other day when I upgraded the handheld software but with my new 8700 I am back to the same terrible Cingular browser. Is it installed on my 8700 and I just can't see it?

1. Did you send service books?

2. Did you register the device?

3. It's possible Cingular didn't enable it (happened to me) and you need to call them.

Default Just to be clear

You get the Internet Browswer. The Blackberry Browser comes from corporations on a Blackberry Enterprise Server, hence BES.

What does "not a good number" mean?

That's the direct line into Cingular's data support team.

It means they changed their number. Call it and it will give you a new number.

No that is true. At least in my experience. And I've used both BIS and BES.

If you're on BIS you get two browers (Internet & Carrier).

If you're on BES you get three brosers (Internet, Carrier, BES Browser)

866-490-2666, That number will be discontinued as of February 15th. After that date, There will be -no- direct data support number, and the main number's IVR will be upgraded to do "Intelligent Routing" Just make sure you don't hit "Blackberry Technical support" when you have a voicemail issue...I hate that >_<

Anywho, Yea, the number works for the next...11 days. After that, we have no direct number.

Another direct number is 800-304-3044 for support. I have always used this number and just called them two days ago and it works with no problem.

If you dial 866-490-2666 it gives another number to call and then disconnects you. Dial it and see what happens.
