So I contacted GSMphonesource.com to have my 3 8700c's unlocked. I heard back from them that they are unable to unlock my devices because my IMEI numbers are not listed in the Cingular database. Have you ever heard of that? Any suggestions on how I can get these unlocked? Thank you.

Unfortunately, I got the same response. Adam did say to check back with him in a few weeks to check the DB again. I also tried another source (double the price) and got the same answer.

I have asked a contact from the company I work for to check with their contact at Cingular (corporate account) to see if they can provide the unlock code. I also just contacted to see if he can do it. He has a thread or two going here advertising he can unlock Cingular phones. We'll see.

i heard the ones that were given out at events, ect. cant be unlocked. could it be those originally came from there?

i am having the same problem. i contacted the person from RIM who sent me the replacement 8700C for the dust issues. he told me that they are not allowed to give out unlock codes.
