Need assistance - how to record calls

Not sure if this is the right spot to post this but I thought I would try.

I have a new 8700R and have a virtual class to attend where the prof will be taking on a conference call. Because I cannot make the lecture I was wondering if it was possible to record the conf call using my berry and my PC.

I was wondering if this was possible.:

1) Use the USB power cable that comes with the berry and connect the berry to my PC.
2) I dial into the conf call, mute the berry and then use the windows 'sound recorder' tool available under Accessories - Entertainment.
3) I am hoping that by doing so the conf call is recorded to my PC's hard drive which I can go back to later.

Class is on Mon would appreciate anyones help.

Complicated

USB connection will not work.

Depending on the sound card in your PC, you could use the earphone jack on the 8700 to plug into a line-in jack on your sound card, and use Windows sound recorder to record the call, while listening through your PC speakers.

A couple of cautions: you will need a chunk of memory in the PC for the sound file; and your 8700 battery should be fully charged or plugged in.

Much simpler: get a tape recorder (tape or digital) and a $5 phone recorder device at Radio Shack, and use a landline.

This shouldn't be that difficult in Windows. Using my PowerBook, I'm able to plug directly into my audio-in port and record to MP3 or AAC in stereo or mono. Usually, this produces a file with a ratio of 20MB/hour.

I use:

a) 3.5MM Stereo Male to 2.5MM Stereo Female Adapter ($3)
b) 3.5MM Stereo Male cable ($5)

Oh... and for power, I simply plug the USB 2.0 cable into my PowerBook to keep the BlackBerry charged.
