Please Login to Remove!

Is there a way to unlock the 8700R yet? Where do I go to get this done?

Thanks!

No. Not Yet, please use the search button in the future rather than ask a question that is asked ten times a week.

Relax a bit. Decaf perhaps? Just kidding. Really, I am just trying to lighten things up a bit.

This is a great forum and you are a great contributor. Lets try to teach civility and the appropriate tone by example.

That's actually not that bad considering Bongo charges $125 CAD to unlock all other BB's.

Use the search button. Because according to KonTiki, there's no grounds for useful discussion here.

He did not say that. He pointed out that this particular topic has come up a few hundred times in the recent past, and that a quick search would have helped...

Many times the info in those older threads is outdated and solutions to issues have been resolved in new and better ways. The "search before you ask" mentality is regressive. Maybe someone has something NEW to add.

KonTiki,

I know how to use the search button and I did use it before posting this topic..... .

The reason I posted this is because I heard someone was unlocking these things starting this week and thought there would be some new info to share on who that was..... Obviously your wrong and the 8700R can be unlocked and I would have never known that for sure until I posted this topic.....

And NJBlackberry a quick search wouldn't have helped here... and you would know that if you read the posts instead of typing away....

Peace Out....

Well, I hope everyone here post answers to lots and lots of repetitive questions and maybe, just maybe, you will see the value of the "regressive" search option.

Good luck.

Now, how can I load ringtones over the BT connection on my 7230 via the IR.

I understand both sides of the "argument" here.

I often get a bit nervous when it comes to posting a question on the forums, it seems that if someone where to asks a common question people jump all over them. Makes them not want to post anymore. This happened to me in the past on another forum. I started getting into the habit of checking through the search button - but sometimes we don't type in the correct string, or get feedback that is from months and months ago. For instance the dust issue, I am still trying to figure out if the 8700c has been fixed of the dust issue, I am having to sort through many many pages to get to an answer.

But I do understand the mod's reasoning as well, we want to keep the forum clog free, and running smoothly, to not have a gazillion posts of the same topic.

I just wish there was a happy medium here. I personally don't post half the things I would like out of nervousness of being jumped all over by members, it is embarressing.

Hmmm .. Just as as test, I typed in "8700 unlock" in the general search field. I got 44 hits. "How much would you pay for the 8700R?" thread didn't show up.

Tried "8700r unlock". Got 9 hits. That thread was the second one. vBulletin search is not the greatest, but it does work on occasion .. Sabesh.
