Default Bb Os 4.1

I have downloaded and installed desktop manager 4.1. My device is still using 4.0. Is there a way to update the device software to version 4.1 or is this dependent on the BES.

Yes, you can download and install handheld software 4.1. It should work fine with BES, but you will have to reactivate. See this LINK for all the details on what you need to do.
