Default only phone

Please Login to Remove!

coming with OS upgrade (4.0) ther is the profile "phone only"(Blackberry 7230)
I would like to know the meaning of this profile since when I use my sim card with a "normal" plan for calls only every time I switch on the device there is a cost of 25 cents (looking for e-mails?)
thanks

Profiles refer to what type of notification you recieve when a particular message arrives. For example, the phone only profile has all notifications (email, SMS, PIN, etc) turned off except for the phone. The phone will ring, or virbrate, but nothing else happens. Profiles have no effect on how, or when the BlackBerry looks for emial or similiar.

If you only have a 'normal' plan, with no data plan, your BlackBerry can't check for email. No data plan = No email, internet, PIN, etc.

I would guess that your charge each time you turn on the BlackBerry is for connecting to the network. Each time your BlackBerry starts it must connect to the wireless network, even if your just using it as a phone.
