I've noticed that when I set up a recurring appointment for an all day event, the appointment is mis-scheduled one day in advance for the entire series. For example, every other Friday is payroll for my employees. But when I try to set this up on my 8700c as an all day event that occurs every other Friday, it defaults to setting it up to recur every other Thursday instead. This happens no matter what day I choose to set up a recurring appointment. Is this a bug in the 8700's software version, or is it just me? What am I doing wrong here? I never had this issue with my trusty old 7290. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Just tried that...I have the same problem. Two choices:

1) Do it in outlook and then sync
2) Make the appointment 1 day later to get in the desired day.

This must be a bug of sorts...

Yeah, I just spent a good hour or so on the phone with Blackberry tech support and they confirmed they had the same issue. A little surprising since no apparent upgrades were made to the Calendar program for the 8700c. I guess I'll just have to deal with it until a software update comes out.

How do you set it as every other Friday (or whatever day you choose) in the BB 8700 series calendar? When I look at options for recurrence, I only get "None, Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly". There is no option for every other week.

I found this same issue the other day, but was able to correct it with a work around. When you enter this all day recurring event make sure to give it an end date. This problem seems to occur more often when there is no end date specified for the appointment.

To make a recurring appointment post every other week you need to choose the "weekly" option and then right beneath that choose "every 2". This will make the recurring appointment skip every other week.

I've tried adding an end date and the problem still occurs though. It was funny listening to Blackberry tech support try to figure this out. They kept putting me on hold every 2 or 3 minutes for an hour. Each time they came back on the line they sounded more and more scared, like they suddenly realized there was a bug in the program. Kinda made me laugh .... kinda.

It occurred to me that you have to be using the relative date option to set this appointment to every other Friday. This function is the one that has caused the most problems. I moved all of my all day recurring events from relative dates to actual recurring dates (i.e. every 10th day of the month). By not using relative dates and setting an end date I was able to clear up this issue.

This advice does not sound like it will be of use for you though since you can not avoid using the relative dates for this appointment. I guess we will just have to wait for a fix. That is upsetting that this wasn't a known issue and that they tried to troubleshoot it for you, since many of us have known about it for at least a month.

I've found the best solution so far is to Sync with my Outlook Calendar, and schedule recurring appts in Outlook, its the easiest way
