Default Getting ready to get a 7105t more questions!

Please Login to Remove!

OK Update here..

I posted earlier about wanting to get a 7105t. It looks like it will do what I want... but I'm still not sure!

I am used to 24/7 connectivity with my sidekick II, but some jerk decided to steal it from my office while I was out.

The 7105t has an instant messenger, but do I get charged for each message, or is it apart of data plan like my SK? T-Mo's website isn't to clear to me about that.

How often do you have to recharge your 7xxx series? I had to recharge my SK every night, and I made maybe 5-10 calls a day.

Are any of you worried about the legal matters that RIM is involved with? Everyone keeps telling me NOT to get it, but this service seems perfect for what I need to do, mainly get my work emails, get data off the web and IM functions.

I'm going to have to make a decision soon. My insurance deductable is $110 for the sidekick, but T-MO is offering me a 7105t for $85! Hmm.. kinda sick of the sidekick, as it seems to market to younger crowds and I can't even install my own ringtones..

they are meny IM clienst for bb out there, and yes you can be concected 24/7.

its part of the blackberry dataplan, just get unlimited and you got nothing to worry about, you may want to check the prices if it is affordable for you.

the battery life is very good, depending on how much you use it but i get about 3 days without charging, while making quite a few phone calls, and use other apps. that is one strong point of a bb.

and dont worry about the court issues, nothing will happen, if it comes to worst (which i doubt) rim will use their own workaround patent. so this is something you shouldnt even look at.

it is a much better device then the sidekick however the data plan may cost you more for bb the for sidekick.

I believe the build in IM client is charge under text message ( $0.05 ) per message, only pin to pin IM client like "blackberry messenger" is under the data plan.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry7100/4.0.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

If you use an im like aim it counts as a sms and the bb comes with 300 a month. You can get another 400 for 3.99 extra a month. I found out the hard way when I got the bill in the mail and there was a $ 24 charge on my girlfriends bb for aim overages.

You can also download some decent 3rd part software to utilize the internet for im like im=, ramble, yadda yadda yadda...Do a search a ton will pop up....Coming from a SKII I would recomend the 7290 since it has the qwerty keyboard, but thats my opinion. BB is tons better than SKII and the data plan with a phone plan for non BES users is the same as the SKII plan $19.99. I paid 19.99 data paln plus the $45.99 calling plan and was very happy. Calling plans vary so just find waht works for your budget.

If you can go a few more weeks without data, the 8700 is due out for T-Mo in the next few months, It will be well worth the wait.

Just my $0.02...Good luck
