Default Anyone currently use Mobile Voice Control?

Please Login to Remove!

So, I was searching through the forums and I have only found one app that allows for voice dialing for the BB, that's Mobile Voice Control. It's a monthly subscription and I kind of want to try it out but not if I have to give them any info once I install it, ya know?

It seems like a cool app though (if it works like it says it does). Dictate emails, text messages...cool stuff... I wonder how accurate it is also...

So, my question is, is anyone currently subscribing to this service and is it worth $6/month? If so, what bb do you have?

Thanks!!!

I used it for the trial period (which I think was 7 days at the time) and it worked OK. It is not meant for long emails, though. If I dictated even a couple of sentences it could take 90-120 seconds for the email to appear on my screen. Accuracy was pretty good, and of course, I could edit if there were any major mistakes.

The phone portion of it was very nice, too. I demo'd it for work and perhaps someday we'll roll it out to our users....but right now we are -3 with resources and there are other projects taking priority.

Talking

I did the trial on my 7520.. Bought it for my 7100i. I think it works great. A little slow, but considering what it is doing, and you don't have to type anything.
I use the call feature all the time. I tried the look up business feature last night on the way home. :Show business APPLEBEE's NEAR 49093 .. 40 secs later I had the listing for Applees with the phone number.
And It does what it says it does.. emails appointments and things well.

Only real concern is the uploading your address book to them... i beleive that is what is going on.
I am hoping that BB will start adding this voice dial to their phones.

UMMM... Yeah, i dont like that. I work for a state agency and I have a lot of state contacts, that wouldnt fly...

So are you ok with the recurring monthly fee? It's worth it enough to keep it?

I just did a Google search for "Blackberry Mobile Voice Control" and didn't find it. Does anyone have a link so I can check this out?

Default Not worth the recurring fee

I used it for about a month on my 7100i and pretty much performed flawlessly. I discontinued it due to the recurring fees. For another 5 bucks you can get TELENAV on the Blackberrys. Maybe if they charge like a one time fee of $29.95 or something like that it would be worth it to me.

Default 7130e Verizon Version due in March.

I received an email from the makers of Mobile Voice that said they will have a software program for the 7130e out the first week of March.
All i really want is voice dailing, New York is tough about hands free driving and I drive over 40,000 miles a year. The only thing I missed from my old cell phone (LG) when I switched to BB 7130e was the voice dailing. They said the beta has performed well and to check back on their site the forst week of March!!

I wish they won't do the monthly charge as well.. I have 10 phones I would like to purchase this for, but NOT going to put 10 monthly charges on my Credit Card. I already talked to them about this... but with no luck.
I think they would have more sells if they would go to a one time cost!!!!

-my thoughts

I've had it for a couple of weeks on my 7100i. Works great for short emails going down the road.

I have been using this for thre months now and have no complaints. The product works as it states on the website. However, I don't pay amonthly fee, it was only $5.99 from Handango. The one issue I have is that if i am using my bluetooth headset the app doesn't function. Don't know if anyone else has found this and I haven't contacted their support for resolution.

I think you actually do pay a monthly fee...if you go to the Handango website, the $5.99 is listed as a monthly fee.

Default Any Concerned with data uploaded to mobilevoicecontrol

I got the following response to my inquiry to mobilevoicecontrol support for those of you concerned with privacy:

My question was:

I am considering trying your application, however I am concerned about the privacy of my contacts. As I have read from your website, my contacts will be uploaded to your servers. Do you share this information with any third party? What exactly gets uploaded to your servers? Just the names ?or all of their information? Thanks in advance for your prompt response.

MOBILEVOICECONTROL RESPONSE:

Hello,

>
> Absolutely NO information other than name is ever downloaded to the
