Hello I have an email with an exclamation point beside the "read" icon. Any idea as to what that means?

Thanks,

It means that the message was sent with a high priority.

The sender marked the message as high priority. Works the same way in most e-mail clients for the desktop, too. Some use an upward pointing red arrow, but most use the exclamation point.
