Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

Various I'm clients exist. See the thread in the general forum as a sticky. They are IM+, Webmessenger, Verichat and Rambler. Do you synch your Kick with anything? Synch various items with the BB using Deaktop Manager software. Good luck.

You'll have to enter your contacts in manually, there is no way to transfer the contacts from the Sidekick (or the online manager) to the Blackberry.

And as far as IM goes, if you only have the Blackberry Unlimited Plan, you'll have to get an additional plan through Cingular called MEdia Net that will allow you to use Internet applications such as IM (Ramble IM is a good, free one.), but this will cost you an additional charge each month.

INCORRECT. You do NOT need MEdia Net to use IM programs. Please research more before you post such statements. I have WebMessenger and do not have MEdia Net, and no extra charges are incurred. There are MANY threads in here discussing this very issue, please search and read to edu-ma-cate yourself about it.

Your statement should actually be, you do NOT need Media Net to use all IM programs.

There are a few IM programs which only need the Blackberry APN.

Verichat, for example, does require access to the wap.cingular APN. This can only be achieved by having WIX Pay Per Use, Media Net, Media Basic or Media Works on your account. Either that or you use BES and access the MDS proxy.

Those of you who are lucky enough to be accessing the wap.cingular APN without being charged are just that. Lucky. According to user "CingularMK" your luck will eventually run out though.

I stand corrected. I am joining ExchangeMyMail this week to avoid any problems - as of yet, I have been one of the lucky ones with no charges.

I was just told this by the Cingular rep on the boards...and have been reading and reading this forum nearly constantly for the past 3 days I've had the phone.

There is so much information going around that some people say works, some people say does not work that frankly at this point I really dont know what to believe.
