Go to Options->Network.
Switch Network Selection from Automatic to Manual.
Let it scan for networks.

For each network found, select them one by one and wait for few minutes for device to connect. When it reports you have GPRS with all capital letters, keep that network. If not, try next one.

If network scan does not show any networks available, you are out of coverage.

If you've tried all networks available but can't get GPRS, networks available do not have roaming agreement with T-Mobile, or they have roaming problems to T-Mobile. In both cases you are out of luck.

I have used my T-Mobile 7100t in India, Singapore, Australia, etc., -- and it works like a charm!

You may want to call T-Mobile and politely ask to be transferred to the BlackBerry Support department. Ask the representative you speak with to double-check International roaming permissions in the provisioning system. Once corrected, you'd have to remove/reinsert your battery and things should be fine after that.

I just hung up with Blackberry support to ask a similar issue with on of my Sales Reps in Canada.

They said that the Blackberry must be turned off BEFORE traveling over a border or another country. Then when you are over the border or in your new destination, turn on your Blackberry and let it detect your settings.

If that doesnt work - then I would follow the idea given by Berry One.
