I just happened to notice that if I do not close out an application my 7100i does not revert back to the home screen. I know that when I used nextel / motorola phones there was a setting for how long before the phone reverted back to the home screen.

Is this normal not to revert back or is there a setting to change it someplace?

Yes, this is normal. It stays on the last screen you were on. I dont think there is an option to adjust this behavior.
