We are using BES 4.0 with our 7130e model blackberries and have noticed that the wireless sync for the address book, tasks, and memos are not working. They are set to sync wirelessly on the server as well as on the handheld itself yet they are definitely not syncing wirlessly. We have wiped the handhelds, upgraded the software on them, everything we can think of...but they are not syncing those specific databases wirelessly. Emails and calendar items are working perfectly. Any suggestions? We are about to pull our hair out! Thanks!

In BlackBerry Manager on the BES, double-click on a user account, click on PIM Sync, and scroll down. Make sure the Location - Server and Location - Paths are all filled in for the PIM items you want synced.

When we create a new account on our BES, we have to fill them in manually each time.

Few things to check:

1) Has your cell phone carrier provisioned each device for BES? If you have not made the call to them, you might only be provisioned for BIS...

2) Did you go through at least (1) Enterprise Activation when connected via USB to your BES server. I noticed once one was done over a wire - by wireless connections went so much faster. If you can connect

3) I know you said you checked, but I would triple check to make sure each user account is setup for "Wireless Sync'ing". Make sure ALL boxes are checked (under PIM SYNC and the top one for SYNC TYPE).

4) In the REDIRECTION Tab - do you have it checked for emails to be REDIRECTED to Device?

5) Make sure your BES Server Logon account is apart of the DOMAIN ADMIN Group. Your "traffic cop" needs alot of permissions.

6) If using Exchange (Im assuming) did you go through the entire installation correctly on your BES server - with all necessary services running?

If you check all this out and your still up the creek - I would call Blackberry support (your carrier) and ask to be forward to RIM support.

In cases like these it has worked for us to set the device to sync through the wire and then switch it back to wireless sync.
