Yesterday I had the BB sitting on the couch next to me while i was on my laptop and i look over and it had just power cycled itself and was booting back up. today, i get a call and i click accept to take the call and i hear nothing... so i look at the display and its blank, so i roll the wheel and still nothing.. wait a couple seconds and the display comes on and it said searching for signal... i have 5 bars when i took the call so its not a signal problem... any tips on what i might do to make sure this doesn't continue to happen.

on a possibly related note: yesterday i did a javaloader.exe -usb wipe yesterday and completely reloaded the OS and restored from a backup.

should i do another wipe and reinstall of the OS? would the "soft wipe" make a difference (the one in the settings menu)?

Hey Byron - I would say that if you have wiped and reinstalled the OS and are still having this problem then send the phone back and get another one.

Wiping does not affect the OS. You can reload the OS with Desktop manager / Application Loader - no wipe needed.

Typically, however, this kind of problem is caused by a 3rd party app, and I've also seen a loose SIM cause this problem. Check and make sure it's fully seated.
