Question Remote Access app for home PC??

Please Login to Remove!

I see 2 remote access apps.

Mobile Desktop by Idokorro:
http://www.idokorro.com/products/mdt-features.shtml

or

Remote Desktop for Mobiles
http://www.desktopmobiles.com/index.html

which is better to connect to a home pc? I want to access my pc so I can access my stock trading software and quote applications that are running on it. Which would be better? What is the difference? I'm getting the 8700c from Cingular with the Unlimited Data option for $44. But I've seen here it's not really unlilmited or some say....

Any help appreciated. I just stumbled onto this forum this AM and since have ordered my BB from Amazon. The thought of being able to access my desktop from my BB would be amazing. I literally could work from the beach... How freakin sweet!!

Thanks to all

I haven't used either product, but both offer free trials. I would suggest testing each one before making a purchase.

Trialing is always the way to go because your mileage will vary but I have heard a lot of good things about Remote Desktop.

I haven't tried either yet, but the interface for Idokorro looks less "primitive." Sometimes the interfaces look loke Windows 3.1

Why $44? I pay only $29 for unlimited BB BIS.

I purchased RDM+ when originally created by ZZZ Software which was later acquired by SHAPE Services. It has worked well although sometimes the screen updating is slow.

When I was originally searching around for a remote access client, I also tried Idokorro's Remote Desktop but I encountered a problem trying to connect. I just downloaded the trial version again and it worked without a hitch this time (must have been a user error... not surprising). I must say Idokorro's product is much faster and does not require an additional download for your PC. It uses the existing RDP built into Windows. One of the neat features I already love about Idokorro's product is that when you are scrolling your Windows Desktop around, a little windows pops up showing you where you currently are on your desktop...

I'm still playing around with Idokorro's product. I would recommend downloading both products and seeing which one you like best.

idokorro is the best if you don't mind lacks for $40 each year... you also may consider your bandwidth, I have a simetric 128 Kbps 1 to 1 and I thinks is too slow yet.

For problems with screen refreshing personally I don't recomend anyone, the solutionsis to get remote desktop connection from a cybercafe.

I just wanted to make a point of clarification, Idokorro Mobile Desktop is $45 one time purchase, not each year.

As well we always recommend to our customers to try all the products and make their own decision which one they like best.

Internet cafes are great solutions as well (that's what I do!), but Mobile Desktop is meant to fill that need of when you are completely away from a broadband connection and need quick access, like on a golf course, a sporting event, a restaurant or on a bus.

It is unlimited. Where have you read otherwise?

Maybe he needs BES? It's not unlikely that the Cingular rep didn't know any better...
