Question Email .wav/voicemail play on BB

Please Login to Remove!

Hi all,

Some of you may know that certain VM systems will email a voice mail left on your phone to your email. My VOIP phone system does this right to my Exchange/BES email. So I get the messages with .wav attachements in my email.

It would be great to be able to open these to listen to my VM while away from the office. The only thread I could find on this discussed BEW support needs to be enabled but many havn't figured out to get the file to play.

Does anyone have some updated info on playing wav files on the bb? I have a 7130e.

I contacted bb and was told by support that playing wav. is currently not an option, period.
Really sucks because there are about 100 at work with bb and can't play our vmails on it.

It is not currently supported by BES, 4.0 or 4.1.

I have script that runs on my PC, when I get a voicemail, it converts the file to a ringotne and copies it to a website where I can go to with my BB and listen to the Voicemail.

upgrade to a 7130, if you really want good ringers on your phone and be able to assign as well.

CNET.com has tons of programs you can use to convert from .wav to mp3 and then upload to your phone. i personally use "WMA to MP3 Converter 2.8.5" which allows you to convert 25 files via the free trial and then I use http://www.coolservice.dk/en/compatibilities.php to upload the file and then download to my phone once it gives me the access code.
