Never mind...I called TMobile and they fixed it for me. Took less than 5 minutes....its too bad that their answering system take 25 minutes to navigate!

Instead of being a thread police why dont you just help him out. This is a help board, at least at times it should be.

Some people may get frustrated because the same answers are getting posted over and over and over and over again, all because others choose not to browse around or do a search.

On this topic alone (IM doesn't work after I upgraded to 4.0) I personally have responded to a half dozen or so unique posts, along with questions at work, all because 1) people didn't read the installation documents, or 2) didn't search or browse the forums.

You'll just have to excuse the frustration some people feel when typing the same answer over and over and over again.

And Jibi simply posted where these questions had already been answered. He did not police anything.

Actually, I did follow the instructions of deleting it and apparently having it resent OTA that were given in the upgrade document. And i still have the problem. I was hoping for some new insight. Sorry for bothering you.

Double check the instructions on the upgrade notes (included here) because there are multiple things to do:

Quote:
After completing the desktop manager and software handheld upgrades, if you receive an error while accessing your Instant Messaging application, please follow these steps: a) Go into Tools, Settings, and Service Book b) Highlight T-Mobile USA IM Client Application and choose delete from the menu. c) Go back to settings and select Applications d) Highlight the Instant Messaging Application and choose delete from the menu e) Restart your device - the device may prompt you for this step f) Go into Tools, Settings, Host Routing Table g) Choose Register Now from the menu h) A new Instant Messaging application will download over the air. You will know this process is complete when you see the IM icon re-appear on your main screen
If you are still getting the message, please state the error message precisely.

Everyone (on all sides) has to be a wee bit less sensitive.
