Default 4.0 Issues

Please Login to Remove!

I recieved my 7100t yesterday and immediatly installed the new themes as followed by the "noob guide". Everything went smoothly and I was using the vodaphone theme with zero problems. I then upgraded my software on the 7100t to 4.0 and now I have major problems.
The first problem is, I can't even make a phone call. When I start to dial #'s nothing happens. If I go into my contacts and pick a name, I only have the option to SMS the person ... not call them. There also seems to be fewer icons on the Home page. I did read somethign about this but it didn't relate to T-Mobile (my carrier). I am missing the web browser icon as well as the bluetooth icon. Lastly ... when I try to call my cell phone from my home phone it doesn't show an incoming call ... it just rings and goes to voicemail. If you could shed some insight, that would be great ... thanks

i would suggest making sure you installed all modules in application loader. it sounds as if you didn't install Phone, etc. if you did (or if you do not have these options), the do the following.

- uninstall the 4.0 software on your desktop; make sure that C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files is empty
- install the 3.8 software back onto your desktop
- open up desktop manager and let it reinstall 3.8 to your handheld
- once its done, you can uninstall 3.8 on your desktop and reinstall 4.0 and then proceed to repeat the upgrade again

or, if you know what you are doing, you can use 'javaloader -usb wipe' and then reinstall 4.0 to your handheld (do a backup of your handheld prior to doing this).
