I tried the search but no hits. I recently switched from a PDA/phone (MS mobile 5) and on the MS phones when you closed a program it wasn't really closed but minimized into the background sucking up processoring power. You have to manually go into the memory to shut down the program.


Now I have a blackberry 8700c and I'm wondering if the programs operate the same way as the MS phones or are they really closed when I select "close"?

In addition, I notice that "home screen, Phone, Message, and Browser" are always on the task bar. Are these default items or can you actually get rid of them from the taskbar? I've tried closing the browser mutiple times but it always show up on the tasbbar.

Home, Messages, Phone and browser (and sometimes messenger) are always running.

END "minimizes" the app.
Choosing 'close' or holding the esc key ends the program.

great thanks, just one more thing, is there anyway to dim the keyboard light or is it set and there is nothing that i can do to change it? I know i can turn off the screen dim ability.

oh another thing, is there a way to lock the keyboard so that only specific keys will bring the screen up. Hitting any other key will not bring the screen backup.

finally, is there anyway to have the address look into the sim card automatically? From what i can tell now i have to navigate to it. I really don't want to have two copies of contacts and numbers, you know one on the phone and one on the sim card.
