Question Poll for those who have used 8700s and 7200s- Vib strength compared.

Please Login to Remove!

I have noticed that in the case of the 7290 v. the 8700, the vib strength seems to be slightly weaker in the latter.

When my 7200 used to vibrate it would feel like the hand of god himself was shaking my hip to tell me, "shane- you have a call/email/pin/etc..."

But with my 8700, i almost never feel the vibration.

All variables are fairly constant. Not sure what the problem is.

Has anyone observed this? Any observations at all on vibration strength of the 8700?

I can't comment on the 8700 as my 7250 is my first BB, but I can say that it still scares the crap out of me sometimes ......... Man that vibe is strong!

My girlfrined likes it...

JK

Yea, my 7290 is crazy when it vibrates. I hope when I get an 8700 it's decent.

The 8700 is much weaker than the 7290. My old 7290 would dance across the desk when i got a email/pin. With The 8700 i sometimes don;t even notice it vibrate

Default Vib strength comparison

Had a 7290 (my wife has it now) - Now have an 8700c.

No doubt with me the 7290 vibrates harder.

Yeah. That's what I thought. THanks for the feedback. I'm glad it's not just me.

I'm a little disappointed because I almost never feel the vib alert from my 8700. The 7290 was awesome in that respect.

To be honest, I haven't noticed that much of a difference. Sometimes I miss the vibration, but then again, I did on my 7290 as well.

There might be a small difference, but not enough for me to notice

Maybe RIM should try an electroshock ringer...

8700 isn't as strong as the 7290 but I've never missed an alert due to that. What case/holster are you using?

even using the stock hoster. Doesn't matter. All of them give me a hard time.

I had a 7280 prior to my 8700 and I agree the vibrate alert on the 8700 is weaker. Like you I constantly miss calls.

The case you are using has some to do with the intensity of the "felt" vibration.

my 8700 vibe is crap. I've missed emails repeatedly because of it.
