Default annoying "Network Notification" message/SMS

Please Login to Remove!

I have a Blackberry 8700c and have had a very annoying feature stay with the device since day 1. When I receive a voicemail, a "Network Notification" message in an unusual SMS format pops up. It also comes up when I listen to all of my voicemails, to tell me - interrupting anything I happen to be doing - that I now have 0 new voicemail messages. It won't go away until I click "OK" or "save" and I've looked in settings both within the Blackberry and when you call into voicemail - there is no longer a "notification on or off, press___" recorded message option.

I called Cingular and they did not know about this. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?! I already have an icon to tell me about voicemails I have waiting, so I don't need this. There's gotta be a way, right?! Thanks!!

I think that you possibly can do it through the voicemail system itself. If on Cingular, select personal options 4. This may turn-off all notification of voicemails.

I had this "feature" on my Cingular 7290. It is simply the way that the VM system interacts with the BlackBerry.

I doubt it is the same for Orange though...

Thanks for the help, but no luck. There's no longer a "notification" setting within the voicemail or anything I can find on Stinsonddog's otherwise amazing tips file (including the VM tree). This is a Cingular 8700c, and I've looked everywhere for a break from these post-voicemail listening messages. Any other support is much appreciated, calling Cingular has been a dead end...
Thanks!
