Default 8700c screen

I notice that some of the older blackberries did not require the backlighting to be on in order to see the screen. And the screen was actually pretty visible without backlighting.

Is this still possible with the 8700c or did they change it completely?

The 7290 used to be pretty decent without a backlight to illuminate the screen. However, that did change with the 7100g and the new 8700c.

Nope. The screen is black without the backlight.
